About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Software QA Manager to join our Engineering team and transform how we approach quality at Deputy. Reporting to Tanky Watts, you'll own our entire QA function, building world-class processes and leading a talented team as we scale.

This isn't just about testing at the end of development. You'll embed quality thinking across the entire development lifecycle, shifting left to catch issues earlier and harder. You'll define QA strategy, establish coverage standards, and create meaningful quality metrics that drive real improvement.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute a comprehensive QA strategy that evolves with our growing product and engineering organisation

• Build and lead a high-performing QA team, coaching talent and creating a culture of continuous improvement

• Establish test planning frameworks, coverage standards, and quality metrics that matter

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and leadership to integrate quality thinking into every stage of development

• Champion automation, tooling, and process improvements that scale with us

• Drive quality initiatives that reduce defects, improve customer experience, and accelerate time to market

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing QA teams and building QA functions from the ground up or scaling existing ones

• Strong strategic thinking paired with hands-on execution skills

• Deep knowledge of testing methodologies, automation frameworks, and quality metrics

• Experience with modern development practices and CI/CD environments

• Excellent leadership skills: you inspire teams, communicate clearly, and develop talent

• Passionate about quality as a competitive advantage, not a checkbox
